women holding a crown to someone else

You’re too sensitive !

I want to showing up brilliant …

I’m appalled and touched 😶 by my coaching clients’ struggles with self-worth work. It takes courage to confront these inner defeating feelings head-on and seek a change.

Like Cathy (not her real name), who was told, behind closed doors in a call with HR, that she should be less sensitive and whiny when receiving feedback that she is too direct in meeting.

Like many women facing similar challenges, Catherine struggles with feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt.

Shocked by this feedback, words fail her, and she can hardly breathe. The feedback strikes at the core of her identity, leaving her questioning her worth. Tears of rage fill her eyes. Despite her dedication and competence, she feels devalued and unseen. She does everything right, even better than most of her colleagues. Her high standards and dedication are evident in all aspects of her work.

She sees it; she knows it. Yet, despite this, she finds herself at the mercy of degrading feedback. She takes pride in delivering clean files, always on time and without any nonsense.

Her commitment to excellence is unwavering despite the lack of recognition.
She worries about her team members and their workload and goes the extra mile to support them.

Her empathy and dedication to her team are unparalleled.
She attends meetings, defends her team’s work, and takes criticism from colleagues who don’t perform well.

However, the lack of support from her peers adds to her frustration and self-doubt.

This makes her angry. The injustice of the situation fuels her frustration and disappointment.
She fights for what she believes in or is used to. The constant battle has drained her of the energy to keep fighting.

Now, she is truly exhausted. The relentless challenges have taken a toll on her spirit.

She considers giving up.

The thought of surrendering looms large, yet she struggles to accept it. But she berates herself for lacking the courage to do so.
She grapples with conflicting emotions, unable to find a resolution.
She feels like a failure.
The weight of perceived failure hangs heavy on her shoulders.

Her accurate perception of herself is weak. The perception of weakness cuts deep, challenging her very sense of self.

“It’s not Life Work Brilliance, Dominique, it’s hell!”
