When Excellence Turns Against You
I’m both appalled and deeply moved 😶 by how many brilliant women I coach struggle with self-worth.
It takes courage — real courage — to face those inner, self-defeating voices and decide to change.
Take Cathy (not her real name).
In a private HR call, she was told she should “be less sensitive” and “less whiny” when receiving feedback that she was too direct in meetings.
That feedback hit her like a punch in the gut.
It questioned not her performance, but her very identity.
The Weight of Injustice
Cathy is competent, reliable, and deeply committed.
She delivers flawless work — clean files, on time, no nonsense.
She supports her team, shields them from overload, and defends their work in meetings.
She’s the one everyone turns to when things get tough.
Yet the same qualities that make her excellent — high standards, emotional awareness, courage — are turned against her.
The message she receives is clear: you’re too much.
She knows it’s unfair. But knowing doesn’t make it easier.
Every remark chips away at her confidence.
Every lack of recognition feeds the quiet question: What am I doing wrong?
The injustice of it all fuels her frustration — and her exhaustion.
When Brilliance Feels Like a Burden
She’s tired.
>Tired of giving more than she gets.
>Tired of fighting invisible double standards.
>Tired of being both strong and misunderstood.
And when that fatigue sets in, something dangerous happens:
You start believing the voice that says you’re not enough.
You start thinking maybe the problem is you.
It’s not.
You’re Not Alone
If Cathy’s story resonates with you — know this: you’re not alone.
This quiet suffering is widespread among brilliant, dedicated women.
It’s not a lack of skill. It’s the weight of systemic patterns and internalized expectations.
And the more you struggle to prove your worth, the deeper you sink — like quicksand.
But there’s a way out.
A way to reclaim your strength, your pride, and your ⭐Life Work Brilliance⭐.
Many women have stood where you are now.
They’ve stumbled, cried, doubted, and then risen — stronger, clearer, freer.
With the right awareness, strategy, and support, you can stop surviving and start shining again.
The First Step
You don’t have to keep fighting alone.
You don’t have to burn yourself out to be seen.
Reach out — to me, or to another coach who gets it.
Together, you’ll map your way out of the quicksand and rediscover your own brilliance — the one that’s been there all along.
You are not too much. You’ve just been in the wrong room.
We have learned, tried different approaches, and discovered our own paths to ⭐Life Work Brilliance⭐.
Through perseverance and support, they have unlocked their full potential.
You can do the same without sacrificing everything.
